COTOP Office Hours:
The Chancellor’s Office holds a virtual COTOP office hour for all districts to drop in, provide feedback, ask questions and receive guidance. These office hours are open to all, including districts not currently participating in COTOP that may want more information. The office hours are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. If you would like more information and a link to the meeting, please email COTOP@CCCCO.edu.

Since 1982, the Chancellor's Office has provided an essential service to community college districts through the Chancellor's Office Tax Offset Program (COTOP). This program has proven highly effective in collecting challenging debts from former students, utilizing a process that deducts owed amounts from state tax refunds and/or lottery winnings and redirects these funds to the respective college districts. By partnering with the Chancellor's Office, districts can recover various outstanding student obligations, including defaulted loans, out-of-state fees, enrollment fees, library fines, and non-sufficient funds from personal checks. A comprehensive list of 36 types of eligible unpaid obligations is available for review, and for any inquiries or additional information, please contact COTOP@cccco.edu
